Recent pandemic emergencies have significantly changed the way work is designed and organized, implementing the possibility of working from home. While this modality offers advantages for the company and the worker himself, it also poses challenges to achieving a healthy work-life balance, particularly when time and space have to be shared. The "work-family conflict", a role conflict arising from the inability to reconcile work and family needs, has recently aroused the interest of scholars studying family functioning. Nonetheless, the motivational aspects regulating work-family interaction are still scarcely investigated; therefore, this study explores the topic from the perspective of the Self-Determination Theory (Deci & Ryan, 1985, 2000), which explains work-family conflict from the individual's motivational orientation toward the family and one's work. From this frame, family education experts can work to identify the positive aspects of the conflict, provide adequate suggestions to resolve dysfunctional patterns and achieve optimal individual and family levels of well-being.

Abstract
From this frame, family education experts can work to identify the positive aspects of the conflict, provide adequate suggestions to resolve dysfunctional patterns and achieve optimal individual and family levels of well-being.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
