Abstract
While the inequality among the World economies was diminishing from the early 1950s, inequality among the Mediterranean economies increased continuously until 2000, with a brief downturn in 1973-87. From the start of the new century, it diminished fast. Among the short-term determinants, increased productivity in Southern and Eastern countries, on one hand, and the global crisis, particularly tough in the advanced Northern economies, on the other, have played and continue to play a main role.File in questo prodotto:
