The aim of this research was to explore the relationships between parental perceptions and expectations as potentially strong influences on parental interactional style and parenting, in order to gain a fuller understanding of the parent-child interaction processes. That s why we focus on the parents evaluations of their children and not directly on the children s behaviour. It was verify the training efficacy by a cross-cultural approach, comparing two different parentgroups (Italian vs. Senegal). It was experimented a parent training aimed at: a) modifying parents mistaken beliefs on children s behavioral problems; b) reducing their stress and negative emotions and increasing their parental self-efficacy, shaping parenting skills and better parent-child interactions. There search foresees 5 phases: Pre-training, Training, Posttraining, I and II Follow-up. Although the cultural differences, the results proved the parent training efficacy into both parent groups: the effects of parent training remained quite stable throughout the periods of observation (9 months).
