Abstract

As in the course of studies on the antimicrobic activity of vegetable drugs, the presence of coumarins in the leaves and cortex of D. gnidium has led us to investigate the antibacterial and antimycotic activities of their extracts; we have thought it worthwhile to study them micromorphologically. The present paper, which entails a light and scanning electron microscopy study of the leaves and branches of D. gnidium, investigates their distinctive micromorphological aspects, elements useful for the characterization of the drugs examined.
