SEPs by stimulation of right and left median nerves and right and left posterior tibial nerves (bandpass 1-1500 Hz, stimulation rate: 1c/s) were recorded in 44 patients: 28 (mean age 9.4 yrs, range 5-14) with idiopathic partial epilepsies (IPE); 16 (mean age 19.5 yrs, range 12-24) with idiopathic generalized epilepsies (IGE). Enlarged somatosensory evoked potentials (SEPs with amplitude ≥25 uV: ESEPs) were recorded in 6 and 2 patients with IPE and IGE, respectively. ESEP-components of IPE-patients were: P45-N60 wave (median n. stim.) and P37-N45-P2 complex (tibial n. stim); ESEP-component of IGE-patients was P22-N33-P45 complex (median n. stim). The enlarged N45-P2 component (recorded in IPE-patients by stimulation of the post. tib. nerve) showed a latency shift in comparison with the same component recorded in age, height and diagnosis matched controls.

Abstract
ESEP-components of IPE-patients were: P45-N60 wave (median n. stim.) and P37-N45-P2 complex (tibial n. stim); ESEP-component of IGE-patients was P22-N33-P45 complex (median n. stim). The enlarged N45-P2 component (recorded in IPE-patients by stimulation of the post. tib. nerve) showed a latency shift in comparison with the same component recorded in age, height and diagnosis matched controls.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
