Angiolymphoid hyperplasia with eosinophilia (AHE) is a rare disease characterized by cutaneous nodules, sometimes associated with blood eosinophilia. The case of a 43-year old woman affected for 6 years by cutaneous nodules with a reddish hue, located on the back and the face, is reported. Blood eosinophil count was within normal range. Direct immunofluorescence showed positivity for ICAM-1 and LFA-1 in leucocytes and endothelial cells; dermal infiltrate consisted mainly of T and B lymphocytes (CD68+ and CD22+) and dermal macrophages (DR+). These data suggest that AHE could be considered as the clinical expression of an immunomediated reaction.
