Localized heat urticaria (LHU) is a rare form of physical urticaria which was first reported in 1924. It is characterized by itchy wheals provoked by heat in direct contact with the skin. Urticaria typically develops after 2 to 15 minutes of heat exposure and resolves within minutes to hours. Two cases of LHU are herein reported. In one patient dermographyc and solar urticaria were also diagnosed. The clinical diagnosis in both the patients was confirmed by induction of localized wheals. A container filled with warm water (40°C) was placed for 5 minutes on the volar aspect of their forearm and well defined plaques of urticaria developed. Antihistamines were inefficacious. Cyclosporine A (3 mg/kg/day) was able to control the disease.
